About The Elements

What Are The Elements?
The Elements are my latest work. They emulate life and freedom. The focus on people’s experience of the environment. They are inspired by the natural forces of nature, such as the sky, sun, water and the earth. I have articulated our surroundings by using colors found in nature. Nature, after all provides a palate of limitless colors that inspire and are infused in The Elements.
Further, they are all different. It’s like looking at a crowd of people of the same original. At first they appear similar, but when you interact with them – talking, smiling – you find that each has a unique persona, which embodies who they are.

How Were They Created?
Firstly, they are acrylic on wood. The paint is layered to create a collage of textured hues.

What is the message of The Elements?
This art brings attention to the natural beauty that surrounds us, thus facilitating a visual discussion of our ever-changing milieu. It is a snapshot. It allows us to break free from our man-made environment and refocus on nature. We then have a new appreciation for it. Others, like me, have used these organic forms to create everything from architecture to clothing.

What Does Creating The Elements Mean to You?
It means the freedom to paint without boundaries. It helps me to connect more with nature, to look closer, to see more clearly.
