This course presents an introductory study of the role of computers in the creation of multimedia projects. The class features a unique combination of studio activities, readings, writings, and discussions focusing on multimedia issues. Projects will be created using interactive graphics software programs such as Macromedia Director, Photoshop, and a combination of web-based software programs. Discussions center on the articles, students' experiences in learning interactive tools, and general issues associated with the field. This course serves as a general orientation to interactive multimedia. |

This course examines the ways in which software tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Director can be used to simulate traditional animation techniques. Students will apply the principles of animation to create animated short videos. The results will be the creation of a blendo style of animation, i.e., one that incorporates computer animation, paper manipulation, pixelation, rotoscoping and many other styles. Practical applications, analysis of animated films, drawing assignments, discussions and writing for animated films forms the basic format of this course. |
